Hotel Buying And Distribution

The already frustrating lodging component in many corporate travel programs is only getting more complicated. Big hotel brands lately are tinkering with pricing and distribution more than ever. Buyers see diminishing value in LRA. Some wonder if the roundly hated transient hotel RFP process is worth the grief and whether price assurance tools can get them more from the spot-market. What does all this mean for client budgeting, negotiations and overall program performance? With the 2017 sourcing season in full swing, come and get answers from expert travel buyers.

Takeaways:

  • Understand hotel strategies
  • Commiserate with peers
  • Discuss ways to ease the pain
  • Identify opportunities for new negotiating tactics
  • Consider alternative program models
  • Learn about new sourcing tools and services

The TMC Of The Future

Artificial intelligence, bots and apps. Predictive analytics. Virtual payment. Advanced telephony. Alternative distribution. Expense management. Clients expect their travel management companies to keep up on a lot of technology. Those that couldn’t are mostly gone. So what’s to come? How are TMCs using automation to evolve? What are they missing? What are they getting or not getting from travel tech providers? Can TMCs be a one-stop shop? Expert panelists will debate.

Understanding Concur’s TripLink

TripLink has been controversial since Concur announced it four years ago. It is positioned as a safety net for bookings that leak from managed travel programs (or never went through them in the first place). In practice, it is becoming one of corporate travel’s most significant enablers of GDS bypass. Will it upend the travel management company framework that has powered managed travel for decades? As the service continues to add participating travel suppliers, two travel managers with TripLink experience will discuss the promise and the pitfalls.
